Digital Banker
Digital Banker is a platform of tools that give Bankers modern, useable interfaces for their key tasks.
The platform is an ecosystem of thin UI layer applications that aggregate information from multiple underlying systems.
My role in the project
The project evolved over the course of multiple years touching many people within the experience design team. I played a hands-on role, spearheading the Figma prototype used for presenting to senior managers and stakeholders within the bank.
I produced many artefacts, wireframes and prototypes and presented to various stakeholders across the bank, including our end users, Westpac bankers.
Design approach
The project was delivered over multiple releases, using an iterative design approach.
As a feature was worked on, multiple variations were wire-framed and critiqued, before being designed at higher fidelity, this was a collaborative process, taking inputs from business analysts, solution designers and end users.
The Design process involved collaborating with Westpac’s Global Experience Language (GEL) team and Westpac’s accessibility team and utilitised custom UI components along with Westpac (GEL) components.
Outcomes
Project saw improvements to banker workflow and delivered the following features
Enhanced Customer profile
Creation of customer activities including customer appointments, Follow ups & Referrals
Successful decomission of an older CRM, with all functionality moved into Digital Banker
One simplified CRM, saving bankers up to one hour a day
Design consistency and efficiency
Through using Westpac GEL system, new pages maintained a consistent look and feel regardless of the feature. Reoccurring patterns were developed which could be used across multiple features in order to increase efficiency for designers and developers.
Design Refinement
With each release, new components were developed to meet new use-cases.
